Father X-Mas presents…. VIP Soundclash!

santa xtrahThis is it: The final Drum&BassArena blog post of 2013!

Not ones to shy away from the festive spirit we’ve hooked up with Xtrah for something fittingly seasonal. Not only has he allowed us to gully his artist pic with a badman Santa flex, but he’s in the spirit of giving himself.

Christmas starts right now… With this very special free track from the London producer. All hail Soundclash VIP!

It’s free to everyone who’s liked him on Facebook and marks an apt end for another killer year for Xtrah. From his Shogun appearance this spring to his recent role in Andy C’s massive Nightlife 6 with releases on Symmetry, Critical and Subtitles in between, it’s been another big year for the X-man. From what he tells us, though, the best is yet to come…

“I haven’t had as many tunes out this year as I had previously but I’ve been hard at work in the studio,” he says. “I’ve got some solid things planned next year. There’s a Metalheadz Platinum 12 coming out and a few other things I’m excited about like release with DLR on Dispatch and more that I can’t quite confirm yet.”

“I’m beginning to think about an album and concepts for tunes. Once I’ve got 20 or 30 tunes done I’ll see how they sound and if I can sculpt the album from them. Basically I’m starting to carve my own sound now and I think an album might be the best way to present it. But if that doesn’t work then I’m sure I’ll have some really strong 12s to deliver!”

Sounds tasty. And before all that, he’s turned this monster into a VIP and it’s yours for free!

“I’ve done one or two VIPs of my own tracks before but I’ve never released one,” he tells us. “The only people I sent this to before were Noisia, Kasra, Calyx & TeeBee, Break and Andy C. That’s it. They’re normally the first guys I sort out.”

Now it’s yours. All you have to do is like his Facebook page. As he’s in the spirit of giving, we asked him for the ideal presents for other D&B players he’s affiliated with…

Kasra: I would get him some fluffy slippers and a house coat as I imagine he likes to be comfortable when he is at home surfing the web.

Andy C: A new hat as it appears he lost the one he should have been wearing on the front of Nightlife 6! 😀

Break: Deserves a bloody medal for all the amazing music he makes but I’ll get him a new studio chair so he can smash it and be comfortable as the same time.

DRS: Easy… Whisky!

CodeBreaker: A pair of sunglasses for when he is daywalking.

Risky: A bottle of propper classy wine to say thanks for all the support since day one

Friction: A genuine samurai suit because who doesn’t want one of those?

Goldie: Some new budgie smugglers for bikram!

Ant TC1: A framed version of the picture I have from Estonia. He knows what I’m talking about. Don’t you Ant? 😉

Clive Evolution (My agent): A trip round a local brewery and a card saying thanks for all the hard work he has put in this year. I really appreciate it!

And I have to say a huge thank you to everyone else who’s helped and supported me this year, it means a lot to me. Onwards and upwards into 2014 and beyond!
