BRAND NEW to this year’s Drum&BassArena Awards is Best Vocalist category. As many producers move away from the sampling school of creativity and more towards original recording artists, the Best Vocalist category is essential when representing all aspects and angles of our rich, broad scene. Best MC has been an established category since Drum&BassArena Awards began, Best Vocalist will complement this to ensure that all mic-charmers – whether they rap, hype or sing – are represented fully.
ALSO NEW to this year’s Drum&BassArena Awards is a two-tiered voting system. The first round of votes commences now and will run until November 4th. Then, on November 6, we will announce the 10 most successful nominees in each category. The voting campaign will then undergo a second round as the nominees experience an intense 10 day focus as voters pledge their love for the most deserved winner right up until the final strike of midnight, November 16.
Drum&BassArena Awards: By the people – For the people
We’ve worked hard to make sure the Drum&BassArena Awards is a genuine industry benchmark. This is down to our faithful and passionate community who will be voting for every award besides the industry-voted Hall Of Fame accolade.
No one loves, supports and celebrates drum & bass like Drum&BassArena fans. These guys know their beats and they know who truly deserves to win, making the Drum&BassArena Awards a genuine indicator of the scene’s most successful individuals.
As a way of saying thank you, Drum&BassArena will give every registered voter a free ticket to the event and a discount code to use on our merchandise store.
Rolling out the yellow carpet…
On the night itself… Uniting whole scene for one special night, the Drum&BassArena Awards ceremony carefully balances party with prestige. Hosted, once again, by Charlie T and Dynamite MC, everyone is urged to attend: The fans, the DJs, the producers, the label owners, the managers, the agents, the boys and girls behind the scene who make things happen. This is a one-off opportunity for everyone and anyone who is passionate about the scene to stand-up, sign-up and salute the achievements and the successes of the drum & bass at large.
There’s a lot to salute: The world is now officially dancing to a 170BPM drum. Not only has drum & bass enjoyed three unanimous UK Top 10 hits (including two huge number one singles) but there have been more drum & bass remixes commissioned by major labels, more headline activities by D&B artists at major festivals and more exposure on national radio than ever before.
And we want YOU to take part in this year’s event. Please help us spread the word, please vote and – most importantly – please make use of your own free ticket and save the date: On December 2 2014 we will ALL make drum & bass history once again.
It’s a global thing
Drum & Bass is global… And so are the Drum&BassArena Awards. Voting itself is open to fans around the world, and the event will be live streamed allowing fans in every corner of the globe a front row seat. This can be accessed via D&BTV with full details provided before the event.
Now let’s get down to business – VOTE NOW.
