Massive news from the Shogun Audio camp as they unveil the first of a brand new four-part EP series on their sister imprint Elevate Audio.
Not only does the Quadrant EP Vol. 1 boast crucial cuts from the likes of Original Sin, Killer Hertz, and of course Friction himself, but it also marks the welcome return of Dope Skillz, following a 9 year hiatus.
The Fold sees him picking up where Faction/ Who Are You left off in 2008, showcasing his unique blend of bass-driven melodies that pack a hefty low-end punch, resulting in a seriously infectious dance-floor stepper. Get it in your ears…
We’re keeping our ears firmly to the ground for more new music from the London-based legend, as well as Elevate Audio who have some more huge surprises in store with an impressive forthcoming release schedule. Friction gave a bit of insight into the ethos behind the label:
“People who listen to my Radio 1 show know I’m a huge fan of all styles of drum & bass, and a lot of the time I find myself making more hi-energy music that might not necessarily sit so well within the Shogun sound. Realising the solution, we decided to set up Elevate Audio as a platform that will run alongside Shogun, allowing us to release more straight-up, uncompromising, dance-floor D&B.”
Bring it on.
The Quadrant EP Vol. 1 is due for release on Elevate Audio on March 17, get it here.
