What a show!
The number 200 will never be the same again. With months of preparation, negotiation, organising and promoting, D&BTV’s live 24 hour broadcast was, without doubt, the biggest show we’ve ever done. Not to mention the longest ever D&B live broadcast in history…. And, most importantly, the most successful!Using our platform to raise awareness and funds for an important charity, not only did we have one hell of a party with some of the best DJs and MCs in the game – and cause countless sick days amongst the D&B community in the process – so far we’ve raised an incredible £2,073 for Brighton-based youth charity Rhythmix!
The total doesn’t stop there… We’ve still got a few items up for auction, including a poster signed by every artist involved and XOYO gig tickets right here. PLUS our Just Giving donation page will now remain open by public demand! So if you haven’t donated yet, there’s still plenty of time to get involved!
It’s impossible to list all the antics that transpired over our epic sleepless session – you can check out the live blog we ran throughout the show for a flavour of the antics – but it’s safe to say that highlights came with every DJ and MC who gave up their time to take part in this one-off show. We’d like to thank every single one of the 45 artists who took part throughout the show. As you read this now, each set is being archived and prepared for you to check out in your own time. If we didn’t lock in, be prepared for some incredible CDJ and Serato blasting – spirits were as high as the tempos and everyone was on amazing form… Especially Kwaii and Messy MC who stepped in for a second set last minute when Fracture & Neptune couldn’t make it. And of course UNCZ who caused a major roadblock in the studio for the grand finale, taking us way over the 24 hours we promised!
We’d also like to thank all the labels, companies and organisations who provided us with goodies to auction; this includes Metalheadz, Titan, Critical, Shogun Audio, Med School, Audio Danger and Audiowarfare. Plus Bongo Club Coffin on Cake PR, LTD Watches, Alpine stars, Converse, Ortofon, EXIT Festival and Global Publicity.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: we’d like to thank every single one of you who tuned in and supported us. Whether you locked in for an hour or two or the whole lengthy session, D&BTV wouldn’t be anything without the passionate fanbase and audience we make it for. All the mentions on Twitter, Facebook and the live chat kept us going… And watching the donations on our Just Giving page rise throughout the course of the 24 hours was incredible. You guys have proved that drum & bass truly is a community. And when it’s for the right cause, we can do incredible things. 24 hour people power… Roll on D&BTV Live 300!
