JUST in case you’ve missed the shouts and previous blog posts, next Wedneday-Thursday (June 6-7), D&BTV will be holding a very special show. Marking our 200th live session, we’ll be broadcasting for 24 hours from 7pm-7pm. We’re not sleeping, and neither should you. Why should you when we’ve got the likes of Jubei, BMK, Hybrid Minds, J Majik & Wickaman, Future Cut, AMC, Rollz, Hamilton, Moving Fusion all spinning special sets throughout the 24 hour session?

To make our celebrations extra worthwhile, we’ve teamed up with Rhythmix, a charity dedicated to helping children who might not be as lucky or privileged as us to find their base, stability and confidence in life through music. This is next generation level here: Rhythmix are investing in the future, and we want to help them keep the DNA of D&B running for years and years to come.

Naturally there’ll be some heavyweight DJ interaction, too. Icicle’s due to play one of the closing sets on Thursday June 7 alongside Alix Perez. Two killer DJs, giving you even more reason tostay locked in for the long haul. By then there’ll be some sleepy, sleepy minds tuned in… And Icicle’s making sure he’s got the perfect selection to keep you stimulated. We caught up with him earlier this week to get his perfect 24 hours. It comes with a pretty crazy story about sailing, no less.

Icicle’s perfect day

“My ultimate day? Mate! Do I have to calculate the travel? No? Good.

This is easy, and sorry if it sounds a little boring, but I think I’d get myself a nice sailing yacht and go round some lovely tropical islands. I used to do a lot of sailing as a kid, obviously not around tropical islands, but it’s been a great hobby. I’m completely self taught, of couse.

Actually my friend bought a small yacht, more or less the size of a floating caravan, and one day we thought fuck it and went across the North Sea from Holland to Harwich! No paperwork, you can just go out. We’d sailed before quite a lot so thought we’d do it. We nearly died 17 times but we got there!

There was a massive amount of fog and really high winds I think we were in the water non-stop for about 50 hours. We were just about to anchor in Harwich until we realised we were in the shipping lane so quickly turned around and went back! This was about three years ago. Every once in a while you’ve got to do these crazy things!

So, yeah, to get back to my perfect day I’d get a nice sailing boat, go to a nice country with perfect conditions and just cruise around. I can’t think of anything more enjoyable.”
