Charity bizzle… The most honourable of endeavours.
Doing something that shoves you way out of your usual habits, pushing you physically and mentally while raising money for those who aren’t as fortunate as you. Nothing deserves a salute more.
Just ask Saxxon. A key member of the Savage Rehab crew, he’s no stranger to raising dollars for charity. In the past he’s organised a Halloween D&B night to raise over £1200 for an African children’s charity with his friend Sgt Magoo, a 70’s & 80’s party for M.S with his sister Lee. He even has footage of EZ Rollers dropping Copa Cobana at this event! And this month he’s stepping up to the plate for something even bolder…
This Saturday (September 21) Saxxon and his family will be doing a sky dive to raise money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices.
“Me and my family support the hospice as often as possible ,” he says. “It’s important to support future generations, in the UK or anywhere around the world. I have to say though; I’m terrified of heights! I’ve always wanted to do something like this but I’m not going to find it easy!”
Joining Saxxon will be his sister, his better half and his nephew. They’ll be diving from 12,000 feet from a helicopter in a jump that involves a whole mile of freefalling!
Backing has already come from the very top of the jungle tree.
“Kenny Ken rang me up when he heard about this,” Saxxon explains. “He warned me I’ll shit myself as he’s done one fairly recently himself. Will he donate? Definitely… He won’t get away with it!”
YOU can donate too. What’s more, you can get a free Saxxon track when you do. He’s giving away this killer roller exclusively to everyone who donates £2 or more.
“The idea of giving the tune away is to get people to be incentivised,” he explains. “I want to be able to say thanks and giving away a tune to anyone who’s generous enough to support seemed to be a good idea. When you hear anyone playing this in the club, you’ll know they’ve supported a great cause.”
Amen to that.
