Let’s just say that a track named something like “Broken Heart” or “I Love You” would definitely not fit my production…
When the songtitles and those so-vivid themes of Forbidden Society‘s forthcoming Throne Crusher album are internalized and mulled over, the overall visual impression that springs to mind is probably of some monstrous, glitching, video montage featuring shots of tanks, teargas canisters bouncing off pavements, burning flags, acid rain, blackened skyscrapers and overturned cars on fire.
D&B business as usual then!
Time to don the gas masks and go in with FS.
The title’s heavy duty, and prepares us for your signature, concrete-edge sound. There’s loads of ominous titles here about false prophets, downfalls, self destruction… so what’s happening? Are we doomed?
Well, I need to say, I am a big punk/metal fan; in my previous production you could hear influences from those kind of music styles. But that’s not the case now…
With the names of my tracks, let’s just say that a track named something like “Broken Heart” or “I Love You” would definitely not fit my production.
So what does it all infer about your worldview? How do you see the state of the planet?
My worldview is something along the lines that people should simply respect each other and not believe all what they can see or hear in media and keep their brain working.
Now to ‘False Prophet’: makes me think of armageddon. Biblical D&B.
This track one of the more experimental I wanted to do for the album: it’s pretty different to the rest of the album.
The False Prophet is Satan, the Liar.
I think this says it all for itself. Yes, this track should make armageddon – big time – on the dancefloor.
Are there women into the music out on the live front or mainly men? There used to be a myth that women weren’t into harder D&B but that tends to be rubbish…
As for girls – yes a lot of girls from the Czech Republic love the hard D&B, you can’t imagine how many of them.
I really like the summer festivals in CZ…
They like it hard with no love in it, ha ha.
You play a lot, including Australasia… what’s the fabric of your live travels consist of?
Mostly I keep playing my gigs in Europe – Belgium, Austria, Germany, Holand, Spain, Slovakia but also Czech Republic – as Czech Republic is really strong for D&B. It is a great life, I really can’t complain.
But at the same time – sometimes it is a really hard job to do.
If you want to do it the profesional way you need to watch out always for couple of things, to concentrate, to be professional. I’ve learned a few things over the years.
Let’s close with another of your choice from Throne Crusher…
‘Stay True To The Game’: we’ve just finished shooting a video, out soon, and as the story of the video says, success is not everything – it’s all about the way, progression and love for the music.
If you get consumed by a sucess you are done as no one likes bigheaded person who thinks they are the best. I know it might sound like a cliché – but it’s not.
Any shouts?
Thanks to the Arena, to Adam, family of course and the fans who are responsible that I can keep doing this all. Thank you
Throne Crusher drops on February 2
