Hit parade hugging DJ Fresh has released his third solo album Nextlevelism this week. Loaded with familiar airwave anthems such as Louder, Hot Right Now, The Power and The Feeling plus a whole new wave of shiny pop-perked party pieces, it’s a bold new chapter in his career.

“I would’ve said my iPhone but it keeps running out of battery so that’s crossed off the list, but this will never leave my list: it’s got my entire studio on it. All I need to do is hook it up to a good pair of speakers and I’m ready to roll. I never thought I’d be able to just carry my studio around anywhere but as long as there are speakers then I’m good to go. In fact I’ve got some incredible Ultimate Ears in-ear headphones so I don’t even need speakers… I’ve been able to almost totally mix down a tune with them!”
Apple Airport
“I’ve got them in about four rooms of my house. If you’re listening to something online, on YouTube or something, then you can stream to any speakers which are connected to these things. They were great when we were in rehearsals. I’ve got a studio just outside my house and if some of the band were waiting to come into the house we used these funny shout-outs which Messy MC recorded. Proper Buck Rodgers style!”

“I’m finding this question pretty hard to be honest, but I reckon this new gadget I got for the kitchen is very cool… Stick the can on, it spins it round and takes the top off. It saves mess and it’s pretty speedy. That’s some next level stuff!”
