We’ve got that Friday feeling! And they don’t come much bigger than today, folks… We’re looking down the barrel of a three day weekend. Two whole days to party and a day to recover. These rare moments should be cherished by all; however you choose to enjoy them.
But wait! There’s an even better weekend coming up in exactly a month’s time: The Queen’s jubilee! 60 years on the throne and still smacking it, she’s given the royal decree for a mammoth four day bank holiday weekend! Roll on June 2-5 when we don’t have to be in work until Wednesday. Four days of freedom – this is a big look for all royalist junglists in the area.
It also got us thinking…. If Drum & Bass was an actual country, who do you think would be the most suitable king and queen?
Seriously now, which players in the scene have the strength of character, distinction and respect to be hailed king and queen of The Democratic Republic of Drum & Bass? We’re opening the polls from today until May 25 for YOU to decide.
We’re chatting pure regal fever: this is NOT a contest for the most talented DJ or producer – you can wait until the Drum&BassArena Awards 2012 for your opinion on that! – this is a chance to really reflect our scene’s strongest characters. The players who could genuinely help us find patriotic solace during the ruffest of times.
Like when those moody cats in Techno Land declare war on us…
WHO would be the best representative to visit them and sooth over the unpleasantries?
Or when those hapless fools in parliament start rinsing our taxes on their own expenses…
WHO would pay the House of Commons a visit and give them a royal slap?
And when the pressures of austerity get too much…
WHO would muster up enough positivity for us to forget we can’t even afford a loaf of bread?
Bottom line: WHO would look best on our stamps and monies?
We need your help deciding this. And to highlight our new country’s sense of equality, we’re after a king AND a queen.
Here’s how you vote: email the name of your desired king and queen of D&B to royalty@breakbeat.co.uk with a word or two why you’ve voted for them.
We’ll tally up the votes on May 25 and interview both the king and queen in time for that epic jubilee weekend.
What are you waiting for? Vote your choice for Kingdom Of Drum & Bass’s regal leaders today!
