‘Well anyway, after the blood sacrifices, I composed this as a memorial’
As some would have seen – the blue plaque in central London being just one indication – it’s 10 years since Twisted Individual released ‘Swan Cake’. Plus Guns n’ Roses have partially reformed to pay tribute to ‘Heavy Metal’.
Recent static-drenched signals from beyond indicated new material from Twisted: time to find out more.
Hi so how’s life with you, where are you based?
Life is great! I am currently based in an undisclosed location off the grid in rural England, foraging for wild berries, collecting rain water, and hiding from drones.
‘Wobble By Nature’ is great and it’s the sort of tune would’ve got pulled back by Rider six times.
If Mr Blobby can get to #1, then so can Twisted! Wibble Wobbly!
Where do you produce… what is your set up? I have always wondered over the years what’s it like where you work.
I’m running Presonus Studio One with various synths and hardware compressors. I’ve also got copies of the Kabbalah and Do What Thou Wilt lying around the studio, they really help with that warm analog sound…
D&B’s gone through so many changes so how are you seeing it? btw is it really 10 years now since ‘Swan Cake’?
I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do, I’ve missed a lot in four years, some people tell me I haven’t missed much ha ha but having my ears isolated from D&B for so long definitely helps with creativity.
‘Swan Cake’ is 10 years old but its been 17 years since Wales! I’m fast approaching 20 years in the game! I keep getting requests for old school sets.
Will we find you playing about soon on the live front?
Do aliens sh*t on the moon?
So this is on your own label, I got that right? What’s plans for it?
To focus only on my music, I’m not interested in releasing anybody else’s. I want to get back to being an artist myself and not an A&R man.
I’ve got three releases lined up, and a lot more tunes I’m sitting on.
Take us into ‘Requiem’, when did this come about… I love the strings on this.
I got invited by some drum & bass elites to a secret men’s club where they all dance around a 40 foot stone owl dressed in robes chanting in ancient sacred harmonic frequencies. Well anyway, after the blood sacrifices, I composed this as a memorial.
What are some tunes that you like, either from present, from time… anything. Influences or just that you like them a lot. Any genre.
Any genre? Im a big hiphop fan, I love that 90s sh*t; I get my inspiration from the 90s! all that horror sample era. The UK rappers are smashing that sound, here are some of my faves
Lee Scott ‘Don’t Make Me’
Lee Scott ‘Don’t Tell Me’
Cult Of The Damned ‘Part Deux’
Jehst & Strange U ‘Dolph Lundgren’
Strange U ‘The Cake Is A Lie’
