Live Stream: Friday 7th March: 11pm – 6am GMT at live.breakbeat.co.uk
When it comes to spotting new talent, Viper have it nailed: responsible for launching the careers of Camo & Krooked, Brookes Brothers, Sigma, Seven Lions, DC Breaks and many more, they’ve been at the forefront of the game since they launched. Now, ahead of their ‘Decade’ album release in April, Viper are taking the party to Fire in London this weekend for the first instalment of their ’10 Years of Viper’ tour. And you’ve got the best seat in the house thanks to our live stream!
Lets take a look at some of the artists we’ll be streaming and what you can expect:
Matrix & Futurebound
Matrix & Futurebound are a force to be reckoned with. The last few years have seen the dynamic duo break into the UK charts no less than three times, with All I Know, Magnetic Eyes and, most recently, Control which reached number 7 in the official singles chart. Serious scene powerhouses, these two know how to set off a party; expect good time, crowd-friendly euphoria!
Brookes Brothers
Known for their unique soul and disco-infused beats; the Brookes Brothers are one of the genre’s most accomplished production teams. With countless releases since they burst onto the scene in 2006 – including the huge Gladys Knight sampling Tear You Down and remixes that span the likes of Chase & Status and Storm Queen – the boys signed exclusively to Viper in 2012. With a new album in the works for 2014, the brothers are set to level up once more. Prepare yourselves: Brookes Brothers promise to bring serious energy to Fire on Friday.
In their own words: “Looking forward to celebrating 10 years of the label with the whole Viper family!! We’ll definitely be dropping a few classics from the Viper back catalogue, as well as all the latest stuff we’re feeling at the moment!”
The Prototypes
Brighton-based producers The Prototypes have rapidly become one of the most recognised names in drum & bass. The pair burst onto the scene with Cascade, which was a huge hit on both radio and across the scene. Their debut album City of Gold has just dropped, with Pale Blue Dot gathering a wealth of support from DJs and fans alike and Just Bounce made it on to Andy C’s Nightlife 6. Do we even need to tell you how on-point these guys are right now? Freshly signed to Viper late last year, they are sure to work the crowd into a frenzy this Friday.
In their own words: “For us it’s the first time we have ever played at a Viper night as we have only just signed to the label so we are looking forward to the family vibe and seeing all our mates DJ! Looking forward to the ‘Control’ live PA especially! Our set will be fast and furious without a doubt and we will also be testing some new bits off the album. You can also expect to hear our latest single Pale Blue Dot, as well as Lights and a whole host of other exclusive tunes!”
Hazard
Junglist soldier Hazard is renowned for destroying the dance floor. Expect nothing but wall-to-wall bangers as the man behind anthems such as Mr Happy and Use Your Brain unleashes his trademark high energy mischief. Often regarded with the same level deck respect as Andy C and Friction, Hazard really is one of the best DJs in the game.
ShockOne
Hailing from Perth, Australia’s drum & bass capital, ShockOne has spent the last five years dilligently developing a spotless international profile. Cementing his versatility and talent with his extensive genre-smelting debut album Universus last year, his global tours often result in sold-out status. We just know his set is sure to be full of surprises this Friday!
In his own words: “It’s been a while since I’ve played a Viper party, and this Friday is the first time the whole Viper crew has been in London for one of the nights, so that in itself is going to be good fun. I’m currently working on a lot of new music so I’m really looking forward to testing out a bunch of new stuff at the party. My most recent major output of music was my album Universus so I’ll obviously be playing a lot of music from that, edits and different versions of album tunes, as well as some of the remixes I’ve done recently. I’ll also be pulling out a few older songs of my own and just some classic drum & bass tunes that people might have forgotten about that I’ve been revisiting lately. It’s looking to be a pretty insane night so I guess I’m most excited just to see everyone going off and to experience the energy of a bumping room!!”
TC
The last few years have seen a flurry of singles, EP’s and remixes from Bristol’s TC. With an anthem-packed discography including bangers like Tap-Ho, and the more recent Get Down Low, TC is a formidable force within drum & bass and is sure to tear Fire apart in true style.
Koven
Pricking ears since 2011, Koven have racked up over well over a million views on YouTube with their first official release More Than You. Add a number of successful remixes and Koven are well and truly leaving a footprint on the scene. Now officially a duo Koven comprises of Max Rowat, and Katie Boyle on vocals. With previous conquests on labels such as Mainframe Recordings and Audioporn, Katie has gained a reputation for her versatility and raw talent. The duo are already among Skrillex and Rudimental as acts booked to perform at EXIT Festival’s main stage this summer. Not to be missed… Expect a naughty blend of live instrumentation, melody and vocals.
With a line-up this good you’d be mad not to get involved! Who are you most looking forward to seeing?
