How do you fancy grabbing two free EXIT Festival tickets?
Destination: Novi Sad, Serbia. July 10-14.
Just in case you’ve not had the pleasure of a formal introduction. The 30+ stage festival is one of the biggest of its kind. With a soundtrack that stretches from rave to reggae (and everything you can imagine in between) it is – without argument – on every festival lover’s lifetime achievement list.
And not just because of its unique setting: Each year EXIT invite a whole host of killer artists to take over the Petrovaradian Fortress… And this year is their biggest, most bass-ridden to date.
On a D&B flex you have DJ Fresh, Friction, Chase & Status, The Prototypes, Rudimental, Camo & Krooked, Brookes Brothers, Dub Phizix & Strategy, Wilkinson. Meanwhile on a wider vibe you can catch Snoop Dogg, The Prodigy, Diplo, Fatboy Slim, Bloc Party and LOADS more, as you can see here.
And yes. We’ve got tickets. All you need to do is buy your flight.
For such a big prize we thought we’d do something different and ask one of the line-up to pose the question. The Prototypes will be supporting The Prodigy and they’re quite excited. So we called them up to see what’s popping…
Hello Proto’s… What’s popping?
Hello Drum&BassArena. It’s been a minute. We’ve been working on a load of new tunes and a few bootlegs that you will no doubt hear soon. We are in a good place at the moment.
Wicked. So we’re chatting to you as you’re playing EXIT festival. On the main stage! Cool or a bit scary?
Very cool indeed. We used to get pretty nervous doing stuff like this but now it’s a combination of excitement, concentration, adrenaline and nerves all rolled into one. Supporting The Prodigy is something we have always dreamed of, so to fulfil that dream is crazy.
Wow! It’s the first time you’ve played EXIT, tell us what you’re expecting….
Our expectations are high. It’s one of the biggest festivals in Europe so we can’t wait for everyone to totally lose their shit.
Any time to enjoy some of the other acts on the line-up or is this an ‘in and out’ job?
We are there for only a few hours, not long enough unfortunately, but we will certainly make the most of it. Then we are flying straight to Ostend Beach in Belgium where we are headlining another festival.
How do you approach massive festival sets like this – pack the classics or pack some head-bending new shizzle?
We just do our thing man, it’s pretty much all new, all crazy and all designed to make the raver lose their mind for an hour or two. We do however have a few surprises lined up for this particular set. You can’t support The Prodigy without coming correct.
Big time. Speaking of new shizzle… What’s coming up from you guys release-wise?
Our last single Rage Within featuring Takura just came out and we have loads of new stuff ready to go. We have done a bootleg of a very well-known track that has been supported across the board as well as a VIP of our track Abyss. The support/feedback for both has blown us away to be honest. You will hear these very soon, don’t worry haha.
Back to festivals: what three items do you guys always pack for a foreign festival?
Spare tee-shirt, trainers and sunglasses. You do NOT want to be travelling back after a heavy night abroad in muddy trainers and a stinking t-shirt. The shades take the edge off the real world so they are 100 per cent vital.
Standard. What three items do you guys pack for any international gig?
If we are just bopping to a club in Europe for a few hours then straight home it’s best to travel light. Gotta take blank CDs in case you’ve forgotten a track or get an email containing some last minute fire. Toothbrush as standard and obviously spare boxer shots for the journey home.
Got any other big festival gigs lined up this summer?
Yeah, we are doing Secret Garden Party, Tomorrowland, Ostend Beach Festival, HoofBeats in Czech Rep and a load more as well.
Okay, final one now. I’ve been asking too many questions, it’s time for you to ask one. We’ve got two EXIT festival tickets to give away and we want YOU to ask the question. GO….
