Just in case our Pioneer DJ competition isn’t quite enough in one day for you guys, here’s a cheeky chance for One Nation freebies!
Few events capture the original rave spirit than One Nation. Now in their 20th year of hardy party-starting they’ve got a huge series of events lined up throughout 2013.
From their roots at the legendary Bagleys to large-scale incendiary sessions at Brixton Academy, Birmingham NEC and Wembley Stadium, One Nation have worked with the very best DJs and MCs in our scene… And are officially the longest running D&B promoter still in operation!
Throughout the year you can expect all sorts of carnage, but for now all eyes are on Brixton Electric this Friday, February 1, for a rather tasty looking Back 2 Back special. The line-up is undiluted naughtiness with Hazard, The Prototypes, The Harry Shotta Show, Shadow Demon Coalition, Ed Rush b2b Optical, Original Sin b2b Sub Zero, Majistrate b2b Logan D and Annix. Sick, right?
Full details can be found right here and we’ve got two sets of two tickets to give away. But first, with such an impressive history of events behind them, we thought we’d get some tips on promoting from them. Fancy yourself as big player in the rave game? Then follow these simple steps:
One Nation’s Guide To Promoting!
Start promotion early.
But don’t start promotion too early. Unless it’s an absolutely massive gig you don’t want to be banging on about a standard club event for 6 months, as it will look desperate!
Don’t let the artist budget run away with itself or there won’t be any money left over for the people that are risking tens of thousands of pounds – i.e. the promoters.
Be thorough and don’t presume that anything has actually been done until you have double-checked it yourself.
Be prepared to lose money on occasion – it happens to everyone in the promoting business.
Don’t drink too much on the night – if it’s been a good event you can go out on the piss the night after.
Try and forge your own identity through branding, so people remember the brand … Not just the artists that are playing there.
Hold your nerve – promoting D&B in particular is a last-minute business in terms of ticket sales.
Win Tickets!
