Fancy upgrading your set-up?
Drum&BassArena have teamed up with leading DJ manufacturer Pioneer to host a very exciting competition: We’ve got a DJM-T1 mixer and three pairs of HDJ-2000 headphones to give away!
But we’re not giving them away easily. Oh no. You need serious skills to get your hands on this type of gear. Think you’ve got what it takes? Then read on…
The latest addition to Pioneer’s flagship DJM mixer family has inherited the sound quality design of Pioneer’s industry-leading DJM-900 and DJM-2000. A two-channel badboy, it’s the first Traktor certified mixer that’s designed specifically for the mixing software. A mixer, controller and audio interface all-in-one, it welcomes you to a new world of creative possibilities.
See here to check out the DJM-T1 in action with the scratch-handy DJ Fu.
“It’s everything you’d expect from Pioneer,” explains Fu. “Great build quality, great sound quality and it really opens Traktor to its true potential. I love the way you can process all the effects through Traktor. They’re assignable to all the knobs on the mixer. Basically YOU tell the mixer what you want to do! There’s a preset layout but if you want to get geeky then you can dive in deep and tailor it totally to your set-up.”
Even taking a 20 second break from mixing duties to fiddle around with the software effects can ruin your flow, but with the DJM-T1 you can assign it all ready and never take your eyes off the mixer.
“All the options are right in front of you,” Fu continues. “You can hide your computer away and do your set straight off the mixer and properly connect with the crowd.”
With a robust crossfader designed with scratching in mind, the DJM-T1 comes with essential adjustments for lag, tension, curve and reverse allowing you to tweak it to your own personally perfect settings.
There’s more… We’ve also got three pairs of HDJ-2000 headphones to give away.
Designed for multiple environments, the HDJ-2000s are all about clarity, clear separation and comfort. Armed with a capacity of 3,500 mW distortion is a worry of the past, and with the 50mm driver units and high flux magnets mean they’re just as suited to the studio as they are the club.
With a stereo/mono function, hard-wearing build and simple folding structure they more than live up to any expectations. Shucks, they even boast a heat-sensitive, low rebound memory foam under the leather ear-cushions to ensure there’s no fatigue whatsoever. Your ears will thank you for this for many years to come.
Okay cool, so how do YOU get your hands on any of this?
Simple. Make us a 30 minute mix. Make sure it’s the best you can possibly create… And make sure it’s with us by Friday February 22.
The winner will bag themselves the DJM-T1 and a profile interview on Drum&BassArenaBlog while three runners up with be the proud owners of a pair of HDJ-2000s. Here are the essentials…
